Dear Parents and Guardians of grade 8 students, For an eighth grade research project, we are researching bullying among teens and pre-teens. We have created an anonymous survey for students to take during Social Studies class. However students are not allowed to take this survey without the permission or consent of their parent or guardian. We would like to ask for your permission for your child to fill out this survey. This survey is optional. This survey could potentially stop bullying in our school and online. Creating awareness of bullying will help make the school safer because some bullies do not even know that they are hurting kids physically, mentally and emotionally. Some bullying facts:
When a bully makes fun of somebody, the person the bully harmed keeps what happened in their mind and it will take a while for them to let it go.
Over 160,000 students miss school every day in fear of being bullied.
About 1 in every 5 students is involved in bullying once a week or more.
